a short weekend

friday afternoon when I came home from work the weekend looked pretty glem... both the boys were sick and had been to the dr... i walked in and travis gave me the run down of meds for everyone : antibiotics, cough and congestion, and steriods
YAY what fun i was thinking ... i was very disappointed because we (the boys and i) had planned on going to my parents for the weekend but it looked like our plans had changed...and i was not looking forward to travis going out of town till thursday while i was at home with 2 sick kids! i text my many prayer warriors and said please pray!!!
GOD is good because both boys woke up saturday morning bouncing off the walls! needless to say i told the boys to get dressed because we are going to gigi's and tractor's!
i knew that going out of town would help off set the fact that travis would be gone for almost a week, so when i discovered that the boys were well enough to go i threw everything in a bag and hit the road!
so we got there about 11 on saturday and we got to spend lots of quality relaxing and fun time with my parents... i can not wait till they move closer and i tell them this often hoping it will speed up the process.
now i am back home and dreading starting this work week... it is the week before TAKS and we all know what that brings and on top of that travis is out of town AAAHH!!! but i am going to think positive only 5 more days till my scrapbooking getaway!! i love my girlfriends!!!

my new workout

Well, I broke down and bought an elliptical machine. Travis saw it at goodwill and it is in great condition! I only paid 50$ for it, that part I was really excited about. After trying the gym and never making it very often I gave in.
I told Travis that it would really be nice to have something here at home that I could do even when he was not here and/or the boys were awake. I know sounds complicated but if you are a mom you will understand that having kids with you and working out don't really work out!
So we got it Saturday night and of course Sunday i couldnt workout because it is the sabbath and we are suppose to rest. (the only time I have really taken this literally!) So Monday rolls around and Travis is working, I sit the boys in front of the TV like the good Mom that I am and tell them Mommy is going to exercise. (I was thinking that they could watch one cartoon and then I would be done..HAHA!!) They promptly jumped up and ran down the hall... of course they HAD to see this!
So, with an audience .... I get on and slowly begin. After about two minutes I come to a complete stop. Lane ask me "momma are you okay?" as I was huffing and puffing I replied "yes, Mommy is just fat and out of shape." Lane then begins to run in place and says "I can do it fast I am not fat!" gotta love kids!!!
I was very disappointed! I only lasted about two minutes!!! How sad is that! I didnt want to tell anyone at first (I know you are thinking why did you???) but I had to find out if I was the only one having this much trouble. Well several of my friends confirmed that elliptical machines are very hard... I love my friends!
I was way too sore to try and do it again Tuesday... I know pathetic! So I waited till Thursday. I want everone to know that I beat my record I now can last three entire minutes!!! I cannot tell you how excited I was! I will beat my goal again in two days, slowly but surely I will make it to double digits!

Conversations with Riley

This afternoon we all came home switched into our comfy clothes then Travis and the boys layed down for their afternoon siesta. I snuck in to the toy room and got on the computer.
Evidently Riley was not oo tired becauise he climbed out of bed and joined me in the toy room. He asked for hot chocolate so i made it.. gave him two cookies and sat down with him at their little table in the kitchen.
We started talking as he nibbled on the cookies and eventually he said "here momma you can have these" ... they were still intact but I told him we would save them for Lane. He promptly replied and said "or we could take them to the cookie monster on Sesame Street" i said well do you know where seasame street is? very confident he answered all the while moving his arms to give me directions..."yes.. if you go down the road and take a left... now which way is left momma? ..... then you go up a really big hill and then turn right... which way is right? oh yeah.... then you go up another hill it is big too.. then turn around and you are there..."
I was trying so hard not laugh while he was telling me this... he is so serious and gets his feelings hurt if even thinks you are not taking him serious...
I sat across from him thinking that he still so little ... literally... and I just want to soak in all the little details about him. How he moves his arms and lifts his eyebrows as he talks... so many things to remember... I love my little cutie pie!!!
